Who's Who

ShareGift was co-founded in 1996 by Claire Mackintosh (Viscountess Mackintosh of Halifax) and Matthew Orr. The intricate day-to-day operation necessary to generate ShareGift’s income stream is carried out by a small team.

Claire Mackintosh, Chief Executive
Claire had 16 years experience in the City prior to launching ShareGift. She worked in UK Equities as a pension fund manager, then was involved in the setting up and worldwide marketing of one of the earliest East European private equity funds. Between 1992 and 1995 she specialised in the Korean stockmarket, working in Seoul and London, before leaving to structure and develop the ShareGift concept.

Rachel Addison, ShareGift Manager
Rachel worked in the settlements industry prior to joining ShareGift in 2001. She is responsible for ShareGift’s operational processes, from donations to the managing of the Charity’s portfolio of shares. She also organises and supervises all of the administrative activities that facilitate the smooth running of the ShareGift office.

David McIntosh, ShareGift Executive
David has previous experience both in the broking industry and in the UK charity sector. In addition to operational matters he is the primary contact for our corporate partners. He also prepares the Charity’s financial records.

Sarah Wilkins, ShareGift Assistant

ShareGift's Trustees

All ShareGift’s Trustees have experience of serving as a trustee for other charities and are selected for their commercial awareness, professional interests and other expertise. The Trustees know the Charity’s aims, ethos and activities well, and meet and spend time with ShareGift’s staff, both before and after their appointment.

He also co-founded Killik & Co, the UK private client investment house which provides essential broking support services to ShareGift free of charge, and was its Managing Partner and Chief Executive from 1989 to 2006. Prior to this he was a personal member of the London Stock Exchange and a director of stockbrokers Quilter Goodison. Matthew has since jointly founded the documentary and feature film production company Robson Orr Entertainment.
